Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.

Most test results will normally come back within 2 working days however some that require further testing may take up to 7 days.

You may be asked to make a telephone appointment with the doctor to discuss the result.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

To protect patient confidentiality, we only give information to the patient themselves, or to a parent or guardian. If you wish us to discuss your results with a third party you will need to complete a consent form (opens in new tab).

Questions about your results

If you want to talk to someone about your results please call and make an appointment to speak to the GP.

Urinary Tract Infections (UTI)

Complete our questionnaire for patients with suspected UTI (PDF) and bring that with your sample into the surgery before 11am. This allows time for the Practice Nurse or GP to test the sample at the surgery and if necessary package the sample for sending to the laboratory at Salisbury District Hospital. The hospital courier usually collects our samples at midday.

There is an alternative form if you have been asked to bring an MSU (Mid stream Urine sample) sample (PDF) into the surgery for another reason i.e. annual review ACR which is usually an early morning urine sample.
